چکیده

In this paper, we present a new one-parameter fourth-order family of iterative methods for solving nonlinear equations. The new family requires two evaluations of the given function and one of its first derivative per iteration. The well-known Traub–Ostrowski’s fourth-order method is shown to be part of the family. Several numerical examples are given to illustrate the efficiency and performance of the presented methods. 2006 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

THIRD-ORDER AND FOURTH-ORDER ITERATIVE METHODS FREE FROM SECOND DERIVATIVE FOR FINDING MULTIPLE ROOTS OF NONLINEAR EQUATIONS

In this paper, we present two new families of third-order and fourth-order methods for finding multiple roots of nonlinear equations. Each of them requires one evaluation of the function and two of its first derivative per iteration. Several numerical examples are given to illustrate the performance of the presented methods.

New iterative methods with seventh-order convergence for solving nonlinear equations

In this paper, seventh-order iterative methods for the solution ofnonlinear equations are presented. The new iterative methods are developed byusing weight function method and using an approximation for the last derivative, which reduces the required number of functional evaluations per step. Severalexamples are given to illustrate the eciency and the performance of the newiterative methods.

Some iterative methods free from second derivatives for nonlinear equations

In a recent paper, Noor [M. Aslam Noor, New classes of iterative methods for nonlinear equations, Appl. Math. Comput., 2007, doi:10.1016/j.amc:2007], suggested and analyzed a generalized one parameter Halley method for solving nonlinear equations using. In this paper, we modified this method which has fourth order convergence. As special cases, we obtain a family of third-order iterative method...

A Two-Parameter Family of Fourth-Order Iterative Methods with Optimal Convergence for Multiple Zeros

We develop a family of fourth-order iterative methods using the weighted harmonic mean of two derivative functions to compute approximatemultiple roots of nonlinear equations. They are proved to be optimally convergent in the sense of Kung-Traub’s optimal order. Numerical experiments for various test equations confirm well the validity of convergence and asymptotic error constants for the develo...
